PASSIONE uses the strength and hardness of metal to represent an emotional theme. Metal, a material that evokes solidity and resistance, is chosen to give a feeling of something overwhelming and permanent, in contrast to the ephemeral nature of human feelings. The red square recalls the idea of an emotional "dross", as if the intensity of passion left its mark. The shapes in the work are enveloping, almost in tension to symbolize the tumultuous and overwhelming nature of passion. The metal is treated with different finishes and plays of color, a contrast between light and shadow that emphasizes the emotional tension. The reflection of light on the metal surface helps to give a feeling of heat, as if the work itself were burning, just like passion, which is an intense and, at times, painful emotion. Warm tones, such as red or gold, are used to evoke the strength of this feeling. The work explores the contradictions inherent in this emotion. Passion, in fact, is often seen as a consuming force, which can be at the same time a source of great pleasure and great suffering.
PASSIONE represents the conflict between the desire to surrender to passion and the need for control. Metal, with its rigidity, represents the idea of something that cannot be easily bent or scratched, but which, although solid, can also be threatening in its power.
